I bought this scale almost 3 months ago after reading some of the reviews here at Amazon. I love the way it looks and the way it works. As others have noted, it’s very consistant with it’s measurements – step on it 10 minutes later and it’s still the same. I’ve compared it to a doctor’s balance beam scale and it’s very accurate. There was a problem, however, with the display a couple weeks ago where the numbers were all garbled. It was just past the 60-day window for returns via Amazon so I e-mailed the company, EatSmart. Get this – I e-mailed on a Saturday, received a reply from the Vice-president the next day, Sunday!, e-mailed back the Amazon order number and received the replacement scale that Thursday via Fedex. That’s the most impressive service I’ve ever received from a commercial company. That’s why even with the display fritzing out, this product still gets 5 stars. I understand the manufacturing process enough to know things aren’t always perfect. Going by the other reviews, mechanical problems with this unit are a rarity. Customer service can be controlled, however, and this company goes way above and beyond the expected.

ACCURATE and EASY. This is a thin, light, high-tech scale that continues to be very accurate. The company delivered it promptly and I am very happy with it.

I read this book for my monthly book club. It definitely brought up several hours of dialogue. Though I do not necessarily agree with everything the Author stated, it did make me think about a lot of things. It touched several members in my bookclub and for some they felt it depended on your personal relationship with God. Some of us just choose to follow the Bible instead of this book. However, we can respect that this is how the Author felt the Lord was talking to him.

This scale is very consistent. I weighed myself about 4-5 times and each time it was the same exact weight. Very impressed!! This is a great product and would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this for the value. I didn’t want to spend 300+. I thought this product was highly reviewed and took the leap. I used it once in my living room and it removed so much dirt that it was caked at the bottom of the container when done. Usually I get dirty water but this sucked up a lot. I was really impressed with the drying time. I did this at 10pm, but a box fan down, woke up at 6:30 and it felt like I never did it. Carpet was really clean. I recommend using spot cleaner for tough areas, the clean surge does drain the solution so use sparingly. Very satisfied.

The author is talented and the story pulls you in. I give the book a 4 star for quality, talent, interest, and excellent character development. I give accolades to Kathryn Stockett on her first book.
I keep back 1 star because the book is EXTREMELY stereotypical. All blacks have a good Christian heart, community, and faith. There is not one evil black in the book with the exception of another stereotype, the drunken abusive husband. Southern white women are egotistical, shallow, and selfish. The Southern white women cannot cook, clean, mother, or function without the good and cruelly treated black help. The black women nurture and mother with almost an apostolic aura. Southern white men work and never play. Southern white men are concerned only about politics. Southern poor women are ignorant without grace or class. The hillbilly character of Celia was nearly nauseating.
I don’t like stereotypes at all and that brings this excellent story telling down a notch. Politically we are doomed to hate each other because of diversity. Books, movies, the news, and politics consistently throw in the race issues. We are all individuals and that is what we really need to deal with, the individual. A greater story would have been a better mix of the good and bad. Have some really evil and thieving black maids, poor cooks, unchristian drinking and living and mix that in with some really kind, loving, intelligent, loving mother, Christian,white women. Have some drunken abusive white men with good caring loving black fathers. In books we need to get rid of the diversity and stereotyping.
I consider both Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi to have gotten it right. Why can’t we? Mahatma Gandhi once said we must be the change we want the world to be. Let’s start that. I checked out the a500 with Adobe Lightroom 2.7; the program had no problem downloading the RAW files from the SONY. Since I tend to use Lightroom and Photoshop for image manipulation, I have not tested the ability of the camera to change such items as sharpness, white balance, etc.

The a100 is very sensitive to infrared. Using a 72 filter, I could get good IR photographs in bright sunlight at f8/1 sec. The a500 requires a 4-second exposure indicating a somewhat better IR filter.

Otherwise, the a500 has several features no offered by the a100, SONY’s first DSLR. The viewing screen can be helpful, as can the new exposure modes. It’s a bit easier to use since some of the menu items are accessed by a Fn (function) system.

This carpet cleaner does a good job. It is ironic though that it is called a “steam” cleaner and there is no mention of using hot water in the manual and the unit does not heat the water to make steam. So, I used water I had heated to a boil and did not use any soap at all. This did a great job and dried quickly.

Who would have thought a book about teenagers and vampires could be such fun for grownups too! Stephanie Meyer has created a whole new world where humans, vampires, and werewolves all have feelings and even learn how to get along (some of the time anyway). I felt like Twilight, Book 1, was the best of the series, with great character development and a well thought out plot. Ms. Meyers deserves all the accolades she receives, and I look forward to what she does next.
