Gear Chest Padded Guardian lies

I don’t know what this book is about, but it is definitely not about vampires or love. Especially not about vampires wasting their time in high school in a remote area of Washington. Thanks, Smeyer, by the way, for saying Washington is always overcast. You have obviously never been inside the state. Even Seattle gets its sunshine.

The main characters are shallow, one dimensional psychos. Bella lets Edward tramp all over her, doesn’t make her own friends, and allows Edward to set her standards and boundaries. What a wonderful boyfriend, protecting her, stalking her, watching her sleep… wait, what? Yeah. He watches her sleep. And stalks hers. Bella somehow finds the only rape gang in Tacoma, Washington and he manages to “save” her because, throughout the entire book, Edward beats it into her head that she can’t stand up and save herself. (Also, if you’ve never been to Tacoma, I can tell you with perfect honesty that it is a very suitable place. It is basically the retirement area for Seattle’s old people… it is not a bad place to go. Thanks again, Smeyer.) I used to think of better things to fantasize when I was 12.

Also let’s not go into the fact that Bella has never had a boyfriend ever, and can’t even stand to stay conscious when Edward kisses her. He’s a virgin. There is no way he’s that talented. Umm. There’s also this thing about this being a “forbidden” romance. Who in the entire series even says that they can’t be together? Not even the Vampire Mafia says no to their uniting. It is ridiculous. There is no plot. Ever. At all. Except for like 3 pages. When Bella is really stupid.

Girls who read this are going to think this is somehow romantic, but no. This is mental. I will not even go into Smeyer’s werewolves, because as soon as I finished the series I wanted to burn it. The Indians are the bad people, being a bad influence on Bella (like, letting her be her own person), who give her caffeine and freedom outside of a kitchen. I was sick of the blatant Mo

I love my kindle. I bought kindle 1, and upgraded to kindle 2, and love it even more for extended battery life and ease of use. However–kindle is a device I use for reading my books. I read 4-8 books per week, and don’t want to have the physical books to lug around and clutter my house. The ongoing war Amazon is having with the publishers has seriously cut into my ability to read books by my favorite authors on my kindle. I don’t care that Amazon is discounting these books in hardback or paperback–I bought the kindle so I wouldn’t have to have the physical books to deal with. It has been months, and the list of books I have not been able to read is getting longer and longer. Meanwhile, these books are available on other platforms. So, I guess I’m going to archive my kindle, and give my thousands of dollars of revenue to Barnes and Noble instead. In the fight between Amazon and the publishers, the consumers and the authors are losing.
