This is my 24-month old daughter’s first Blue video, and she loves it! The focus on shapes and colors is very appropriate for her age, and she has become quite good at naming them since she began watching this.

I love these series! I think they are even better than the “Left Behind” series, and I could not put those down! Again, the Thoenes do an excellent and captivating job of telling a great story and the history of the Israeal’s beginnings at the same time. The characters’ losses are your losses and their happiness is your happiness.

For those of you who have read the other series though, the beginning of “Prague Counterpoint” involves events and characters in this series during this same time frame at a crucial moment. However, the event in question is not mentioned in this book (involving Jacov and Rabbi Leibovitz), and I am wondering if anyone else noticed that. The events in “Jerusalem’s Heart” makes one wonder how the characters could accomplish the event in the prologue of the former book, unless the reader is to assume it was possible.

Also, Jacob and Lori had no family members left in this series, but they both had younger brothers that escaped with Lori to England before WWII in “Warsaw Requiem”. Do we ever find out what happened to them?

I recently purchased a Canon Rebel T1i and wanted a fast card to keep up with action shots. When I first got the camera I purchased some cards from Walmart that were a class 4, when using the continuous shooting mode the class 4 could only handle about 5-6 shots before my camera had to wait for the card to catch up. Today I put in this Class 6 Transcend card and it shot non stop for over 30 pics (I didn’t want to keep going). I have never used the more expensive brands so I am not sure how this compares to those but for the needs I have and the price I paid this can not be beat. Shipping only took a few days too. Great product.

This book masquerades as being sympathetic to the Black maids in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 1960’s but consider what happens in it. A White woman in the deep South when Jim Crow is rampant interviews Black maids in order to compile a book that will bring the maids’ stories to the attention of the larger world (nb. the format that the Blacks need the White leader). BUT, in spite of this supposedly noble purpose, in fact the self-interested White woman risks nothing she cares about while the Black women she pulls into her project risk everything. And sure enough, by the end, the book about the maids’ stories gets her the job in NYC she was after all along, while the Black maids are left in Jackson to face danger in the wake of the book’s publication. Simply stated, I threw the book across the room when the elephant was hurt…one of many cruel things done to animals in the book. As hard as I tried, I could not find anything interesting in the book. Scattered and full of unbelievable misery.
